Real Broker - My First 6 Months
- I want to talk about your experience with Real Broker because it’s been 6 months since they opened in BC. And, in fact, you spent a year-and-a-half working to bring Real Broker to BC is that correct?
There were many people involved in bringing Real Broker to BC and yes I was one of them and did spend a year and a half working to do so. It has been 6 months and what a wild ride it’s been. We opened in BC just a few days before Christmas in 2022. In March, we had an amazing Launch BC event at the Kent Event Space. It wasn’t just sold out it was over-sold. There was standing room only. Alex McFadyen was one of the speakers at the event and did a fantastic job with his keynote presentation. Since launching in BC things have been going incredibly well. We are rapidly growing with many of the best agents out there. - Why Real Broker? What made you spend a year and a half working to bring this brokerage to BC?
It was a number of things. The brokerage model, in my opinion, is the best out there at the moment. And, it was really the culture that drew me in. Many brokerages talk about the culture they have or they are creating but Real Broker’s culture was unlike anything I’ve ever seen or experienced before. It is one of true collaboration. And, I don’t just mean collaboration with one another within the brokerage. We collaborate with anyone and everyone from any brokerage. There is immense power and freedom in that. One of our company’s core values is “Work Hard. Be Kind” and every one of the over 11,000 agents at our company embodies that core value.
I mentioned the business model of the company. We have no monthly fees. One of the lowest splits and caps in the industry. And there are 9 different ways to make money at Real. The first 8 are all production based. Agents also have an opportunity to participate in revenue sharing with our company as well as equity ownership in the brokerage through the stock purchase plan and stock awards. - What is revenue sharing?
It is simply another way for agents to generate income at the company. It is really the cherry on top of the sundae of everything that Real Broker has to offer. If an agent is directly responsible for attracting another agent to the brokerage they are rewarded financially up to 5% or $4000 per year, per agent of the revenue generated for the company. We’ve only been open 6 months here in BC and we already have agents making anywhere from a few thousand dollars a month to over 12 thousand dollars per month in passive income. That can be life-changing for any agent. In January, our company’s CEO Tamir Poleg announced that revenue share is now willable at our company. Just imagine what that means for the hard-working agents at our brokerage. They can rest assured that should anything happen to them, the revenue share they’ve built up at the company can pass to their spouse or children, or whomever they choose, in perpetuity, and those people do not have to be real estate agents in order to receive it. - What would you say are the biggest differences between Real Broker and traditional brokerages?
The power of One Real. At a traditional brokerage, the person you go to for answers is your managing broker. Unless you’re on a team where you would have your team lead and possibly the other agents on your team to turn to as well. Now imagine the hive mind of over 11,00 agents around North America. When one of our agents has a question, not only do we have our managing broker to turn to but the workplace chat group we use gets answers almost instantaneously.
One of the differences I appreciate the most is the fact that our brokerage rewards agents’ performance and production with something that actually makes a difference in their lives and the lives of their families.
We don’t do this job to get awards and trophies but if the brokerage I hang my license at chooses to reward me for my performance, I would much rather receive cash and stock than some plaque or trophy.
And, finally, as a cloud-based brokerage, Real Broker is a lean, mean efficient, machine. The tech we have at Real Broker is absolutely unparalleled. - Tell me what your first 6 months have been like. Was it worth the wait for you?
Absolutely! I have the privilege of having 70 amazing agent partners in my network after only 6 months. The fact that many agents have chosen to join Real Broker and build this brokerage with me is humbling and mind-blowing. The rise of Real is happening and it’s an amazing feeling to be part of that and we are just getting started. - If someone wanted to learn more about Real Broker where can they do that?
